Compliance Officer
Responsibilities:
- Advise on setting up compliant operational processes.
- Collate regulatory reporting and prepare and present reports to the Firm’s management and the board, including reporting regularly to management on general compliance issues, trends and challenges and put forward recommendations for any changes required to current procedures / systems.
- Contribute to the Annual Compliance Plan, and other relevant reports, in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain relationships with and coordinate responses to inspections by regulators.
- Monitor compliance including the meeting of all regulatory deadlines.
- Act as the focal point for correspondence on regulatory matters in Japan.
- Advise on all aspects of Anti-Money Laundering, including onboarding, KYC, diligence, and suspicious activity reporting
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of legal experience and/or compliance experience with a Type I licensed corporation in Japan.
- High level of integrity with character consistent with values
- Excellent communication in both Japanese and English.
- Whilst not mandatory, experience in cross border international compliance is preferred.
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently on a wide variety of tasks.
- Experience with FSA and JSDA rules.
