Job description:

• Building financial models for M&A and Infrastructure projects as well as for other purposes such as post-deal performance monitoring, strategy development and business planning, and portfolio analysis.
• Working closely with our overseas offices which can create global mobility opportunities.
• Covering deals in wide range of sectors: energy, utilities, infrastructure, renewable energy.
• Understanding the key drivers of businesses, building financial models and reviewing models built by other team members or clients, and explaining models to the clients.
• Undertaking analysis of financial and non-financial data, particularly in the retail and consumer sector, to identify actionable insights for the clients by building data models and creating dashboards to visualize performance.

Requirements:

The following skills are required and will be tested:

• basic accounting and finance knowledge
• experience using Excel
• enthusiastic team player, willing to learn and share knowledge
• strong interest in financial modelling and/or data modelling
• Japanese language capability

The following experience and skills would be beneficial, but are not essential:

• experience in building financial models
• mathematical and problem solving ability (e.g. science, engineering, mathematics or economics university major)
• professional finance or accounting qualification, e.g. CFA or CPA
• knowledge of valuation concepts and methodologies
• experience of M&A or project finance transactions, whether as an adviser or an investor
• Japanese and English bilingual.
• experience using other relevant software such as visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), cloud-based financial modelling tools (e.g. Anaplan), data management tools (e.g. Alteryx, SQL) or statistical tools (e.g. R)
• strong client presentation skills / interpersonnel skills
• strategy consulting experience
• data analytics experience
